AGBAR tower
Barcelona, Spain

< Back to projects

The Agbar Tower has a built surface area of 30,000 m2 above ground level and 17,933 m2 below ground. The base of the structure is surrounded by an irregular pool, with two waterfalls that give the impression that the tower is emerging from below the ground. The building has 34 floors and rises to a height of 142 metres. Its form is defined by two non-concentric oval cylinders covered by a glass façade that acts as the skin of the building. Windows are formed by apparently random perforations in the building’s envelope. The concrete shell is covered with a skin of aluminium sheeting that gives colour to the structure.
