The expansion and renovation of the emblematic Palau concert hall was aimed at correcting a number of deficiencies that could not be overcome in the existing building. The most pressing need was for a medium-sized hall equipped with state-of-the-art technologies and able to accommodate all of the services provided in a modern multipurpose hall.
This objective could only be achieved by relocating the adjoining church to free up the hidden façade of the Palau.
