The project was developed by architects Jason Flanagan and Stuart McAlister of Foster & Partners. Since being set up in 1967, this architectural studio headed by Norman Foster has received over 190 awards for the quality of its designs. Notable projects carried out by the firm include the Willis Faber and Dumas Headquarters in Ipswich, the Hongkong and Shanghai Banking Headquarters, the Master Plan for Lisbon Expo 98, and the Collserola Telecommunications Tower in Barcelona.
