The complex that houses the National Theatre of Catalonia has a built surface area of 20,000 m2 and is made up of two structures. The main building, modelled on the Parthenon, houses a 900-seat main auditorium and a smaller 300-seat auditorium used for experimental theatre.
The main building has a double skin: the outer façade consists of a curtain wall, and the inner façade is made of architectural concrete. The entire area is covered by a metal gable roof supported by 26 twelve-metre high columns.
