The law firm Arent Fox occupies 7 floors of a new office building designed by the firm Pei Cobb Freed & Partners Architects. The interior, designed by Studios Architecture, manages to combine elegance and energy efficiency with a large dose of style. The studio opted for relocate rooms and converting them into large transparent and collaborative spaces. A highlight of this new office is its central café for lawyers and clients, full of colour and glamour thanks to its pantry, a giant “bean” covered with stainless steel tiles.
The project included a 150 seats auditorium. The space had to achieve unique features, utilize the natural beauty of the chair to create an elegant and functional auditorium. Also, the seat had to adapt to the significant slope and special technical floor of the auditorium, made from a material with special acoustic characteristics to avoid noise from lower floors. It was a challenge for Figueras that was successfully solved.
The designers chose an elegant and functional chair: the Sensó chair, upholstered in light grey and with a F45 tablet for working sessions. The Sensó is a folding seat that stands out due to its excellent balance between comfort levels and use of space. The padding on the seat and backrest has a carefully-crafted ergonomic design. The seat folds automatically due to a dual, external ball-and-socket joint system which requires no lubrication and is extremely quiet. The seat is one of best solutions for long work sessions and conferences.
