Description

In the historic centre of Mérida, Yucatán, is the new building that houses the Palacio de la Música Mexicana, a permeable space articulated by a central courtyard, accessible and walkable for pedestrians. Also home to the National Centre of Mexican Music, this cultural facility has the mission of preserving, disseminating and promoting Mexican music and its entire heritage. It also houses an interactive museum with eight halls, a concert hall, a sound library, offices and a terrace-viewpoint.

The concert hall, which seats 450 people, was equipped with the Scala seat by Figueras, a seat with a wooden finish and excellent acoustic performance, in accordance with the requirements of the acoustic engineer. The seats were upholstered in different colours, creating an elegant chromatic pattern.
