Figueras, together with Fundació "La Caixa", has developed a unique seat concept that incorporates all the technological elements necessary for a unique immersive virtual reality experience.

Thanks to the growing success of the travelling Symphony project inaugurated at the end of 2020, “La Caixa” Foundation decided to dedicate a new permanent space to this project at the Caixa Forum in Barcelona.

The aim of Symphony is to bring classical music to all audiences through immersive audiovisual experiences. Thanks to virtual reality technology, the spectator can experience himself as part of an orchestra conducted by the prestigious musician, composer and conductor Gustavo Dudamel.

Figueras, together with Fundació “La Caixa”, has developed a unique seat concept that incorporates all the technological elements necessary for a unique immersive virtual reality experience. The seat model chosen to equip this space is the Woody RT by Figueras, a model that has been adapted bearing in mind the characteristics of the room and providing it with the latest technology.

The Woody seat has a state-of-the-art computer incorporated into the backrest of the seat, a modification that has been made by adding a storage system, of only 10 centimetres deep, in the back of the seat, with minimal impact on the original design of the seat. A wiring system has also been specially developed to be hidden inside the seat without interfering in the seat’s performance.

One of the special features of this seat is its rotation system, which allows the user to turn their body in any direction they wish, enhancing the immersive effect of this 360° audiovisual show. Thanks to this functionality, the user can look around comfortably without having to make any effort, improving the experience and allowing the user to appreciate every detail of the different scenes. In addition, this rotation system is characterised by its automatic return, a feature that allows the seat to return to its original position once it has been vacated in a totally automatic and silent way, ensuring a silent atmosphere during the show and a totally net room once the show has finished.

Would you like to experience this show by yourself? We wanted to bring you closer to this unique experience by offering you the opportunity to tour this space and get to know every single detail. Click on the link to enjoy the virtual tour of Symphony.
