Wild Rice @ Funan

Special seats for an immersive experience

Architects

Description

Wild Rice Theatre Company moved into this three-storey and almost 2,000 square metres space designed by an awarded team including studio Zarch Collaboratives, located at Funan Mall in the heart of the cultural district in Singapore.

The main room, the Ngee Ann Kongsi Theatre, has capacity for 358 seaters. The seats, custom made for this one-of-a-kind theatre, were installed at different angles to ensure the best seating and viewing experience and include special lumbar support to ensure maximum comfort all time.

Inspired by the model of the Royal Shakespeare Company’s Swan Theatre in Stratford-Upon-Avon, no audience member will be more than 12m away from the performers on stage, providing an inclusive and immersive experience to theatre-goers.
